1. Introduction

Welcome to CBX Life Compass. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our application.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

When you use CBX Life Compass, you may provide us with:

  • Account information (email address, name)
  • Journal entries (daily and weekly reflections)
  • Mission statement and core values
  • Goals, affirmations, and behavioral patterns
  • Bucket list items and personal aspirations
  • Information about people in your life
  • Any other content you choose to create or share within the application
  • When you connect Google Calendar: your Google account name and email address, and your Google Calendar event data (titles, times, descriptions), as described in Section 6.

2.2 Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Log data (IP address, browser type, pages visited)
  • Device information (device type, operating system)
  • Usage patterns and analytics data

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Application
  • Store and display your journal entries, goals, and other personal content
  • Generate personalized insights and analytics based on your data
  • Send you important notifications about the service
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and customer service requests
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve user experience
  • Detect, prevent, and address technical issues and security threats

4. Data Storage and Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Your data is stored on secure servers with encryption both in transit and at rest.

However, please note that no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your personal data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal data. Your journal entries and personal reflections are private and will not be shared with third parties except in the following limited circumstances:

  • With Your Consent: We may share your information when you explicitly authorize us to do so
  • Service Providers: We may share data with trusted third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Application (e.g., cloud hosting providers), under strict confidentiality agreements
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the new owner

6. Google API Services (Google User Data)

CBX Life Compass offers an optional integration with Google Calendar. When you choose to connect your Google Account, the application requests authorization to access certain Google user data through Google APIs. This section explains how we access, use, store, and share that data, in accordance with Google's API Services User Data Policy.

6.1 Google Data We Access

With your authorization, we access the following from your Google Account:

  • Google Calendar: Events on your primary calendar (titles, descriptions, times, and status) so we can display them in the app and sync your journal priorities as calendar events.
  • Basic profile information: Your Google account name and email address, used only to identify the connected calendar and personalize your experience.

6.2 How We Use Google Data

We use Google user data only to provide the calendar features you requested:

  • Display your upcoming Google Calendar events inside the Daily and Weekly Journal views.
  • Create, update, or delete events on your primary Google Calendar when you sync your daily priorities or manage events from within the app.
  • Show which Google account is connected to your Life Compass account.

6.3 How We Store Google Data

We store only the metadata needed to keep your journal and calendar in sync (such as event titles, times, and the Google event ID that links a synced item back to your calendar). We do not store your Google password. Access is authorized through OAuth tokens that you can revoke at any time from your Google Account settings. You may disconnect Google Calendar at any time from within the app, which removes our access to your Google data.

6.4 Sharing of Google Data

We do not share Google user data obtained via these APIs with any third party for their own independent purposes. Google user data is used exclusively to provide the calendar synchronization features to you.

6.5 Limited Use Compliance

The use of raw or derived user data received from Google Workspace APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. CBX Life Compass's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will also adhere to that policy.

We do not use, transfer, or sell Google user data — whether raw, aggregated, or derived — to create, train, or improve foundational or generalized machine learning or artificial intelligence models. Google Calendar data accessed via these APIs is used solely to provide the calendar synchronization and display features you have requested within the app, and is never shared with third-party AI services for model training or any secondary purpose.

We do not use Google user data to serve personalized advertising, and we do not transfer Google user data to third parties except as necessary to provide the features you have requested or as required by law.

6.6 Revoking Access

You can revoke our access to your Google data at any time by disconnecting Google Calendar within the app or by removing CBX Life Compass from the authorized apps in your Google Account security settings. Revoking access will stop further syncing; events already created on your Google Calendar will remain until you delete them directly.

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with services. If you wish to delete your account or request that we no longer use your data, please contact us. We will retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have certain rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Access: The right to request copies of your personal data
  • Rectification: The right to request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Erasure: The right to request deletion of your personal data
  • Restriction: The right to request restriction of processing your data
  • Portability: The right to request transfer of your data to another service
  • Objection: The right to object to our processing of your data

To exercise these rights, please contact us at privacy@ceoitbox.com

9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Application.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us, and we will take steps to delete such information.

11. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and maintained on servers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where data protection laws may differ. By using the Application, you consent to such transfers.
